We attended the award ceremony of the 49th National Traditional Crafts Exhibition

The patol stool HINOKI won the Prime Minister's Award at the 49th National Traditional Crafts Exhibition, and we attended the award ceremony.

The venue was the main building of the Meiji Memorial Hall, designed by Kiyotaka Kino. It was my first time there.

Unfortunately, I was not able to receive it from Prime Minister Ishiba, but just reading the words is enough to make you say, wow.

Inside the main building. After the award ceremony, there was a social gathering where I spoke with other award-winning artists, the judges, and other people involved. I have had very little contact with people involved in traditional crafts, so it was a fun day listening to a lot of different stories and making new connections.
